“Currents of Uncertainty” is an intuitive, process-led work that explores emotional instability and the tension between control and surrender. Rather than being fully pre-planned, the piece unfolds through making, responding to chance, material behaviour, and bodily movement.
Created on large sheets of paper, the work begins with physical tracing, walking, and gestural marks that record presence and movement. Charcoal, pigment, and natural interventions are layered, altered, and reworked through processes of addition, removal, destruction, and repair.
The work evolves as a shifting surface of traces and fragments, where structure and collapse coexist. It reflects changing emotional states while evoking associations with natural forces such as dark currents, eroded landscapes, and drifting ice, suggesting both instability and transformation.
