Painting Large Shaped Artwork
Some moments from the painting process in the studio at Thames-Side Studios in East London. This large-scale work consists of three canvases. The piece combines a range of media, including acrylic, spray paint and charcoal in the initial layers. These are later built upon with thick applications of oil paint and oil sticks, creating rich texture and depth.
Although the process began with reference to an earlier sketch, the work developed organically over time. Each layer altered the composition, gradually building a surface that conceals multiple underlying stages of the painting process.
