Graphite and pine needles on two pieces of paper, 174 × 200cm (two drawings), 2026
Two layered drawings created through an intuitive process using loose graphite, pigments and pine needles placed between sheets of paper. The works are formed through physical actions such as walking, rolling, pressing and smudging across the surface.
The bottom layer developed into a darker, more fluid and atmospheric composition as pigments settled and dispersed naturally. The upper layer revealed clearer abstract structures, with patterns reminiscent of frost or organic spikes emerging through pressure and movement.
This process explores the balance between chance and control, allowing the materials and actions to guide the final outcome.
